Vanderburgh County Fire Department is a combination department made up of volunteer & career firefighter/EMS providers, as well as civilian paramedic providers. VCFD is always looking for exceptional people committed to providing compassionate service and rapid response to our community’s diverse needs. We actively recruit volunteer and part-time positions, and full-time positions are filled via testing process biannually.

Standard Qualifications
Minimum of 18 Years Old
High School Diploma or GED
No Felony Convictions
Valid Driver’s License
US Citizen
Full-Time List Qualifications
All Standard Qualifications, plus:
IN EMS Certification(s) (EMT-B or NRP)
CPR (AHA BLS Provider)
ACLS, PALS (Medic only, within 6 mos)
ITLS or PHTLS (within 6 mos)
